March Favorites!

I’ve been quarantined for about 2 weeks now so that has allowed me to consume a lot of media. Here’s what I’m loving right now.

Webtoons

I’ve been reading Let’s Play pretty avidly on Webtoons. I love how it tells the story of the budding relationship between an introverted game developer and a streaming celebrity.

The official description on Webtoons is:

She’s young, single and about to achieve her dream of creating incredible videogames. But then life throws her a one-two punch: a popular streamer gives her first game a scathing review. Even worse she finds out that same troublesome critic is now her new neighbor! A funny, sexy and all-too-real story about gaming, memes and social anxiety. Come for the plot, stay for the doggo.

The writing is so funny and each character is full of lovable quirks. It also addresses serious topics such as social anxiety, depression and loneliness in a very visceral way. Plus, there’s a love square happening and I am all for it.

Podcasts

I was consuming a ton of business content in March because I’ve been looking into entrepreneurship and freelancing. One of my life goals is to be my own boss by the time I’m 30, but I’m still not sure exactly what route I want to take to get there. While my parents are entrepreneurs themselves, they haven’t really groomed me on what steps you need to take to start your own business. So I’ve been doing my best to consume a lot of entrepreneurial content, learn as much as I can and figure out what avenue I want to go down in this digital age.

Books

#GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso

Like I said above, I’ve been consuming as much business content as I can, and Sophia’s memoir slash e-commerce 101 lesson taught me a lot about professional development and being your own boss.

Music

Lately I’ve been loving BTS’s new album Map of the Soul: 7, especially the tracks “Interlude: Shadow,” “My Time,” “Friends,” “Ugh!” and “Moon.”

I also love Lauv’s new album how i’m feeling. My favorites are “Feelings,” “Sweatpants,” “Who (feat. BTS)” and “Tattoos Together.” The whole album feels very summery and intimate and I love it.

I just discovered Red Velvet in late Feb-early March so I’ve been listening to them a lot. I don’t usually like girl K-pop groups, their sound tends to be more bubble gum pop, but I really enjoy a lot of their songs. My favorites are “So Good” and “I Just.”
