April Favorites!

April came and went really fast! Here’s a few of the things that have kept me entertained while in quarantine.

Podcast: Commit or Quit

Commit or Quit is a podcast started by one of my favorite K-pop singers, Eric Nam. Each episode includes Eric, his two brothers Eddie and Brian, and occasionally guests who range from directors to YouTubers, dissect the first two episodes of a show and decide whether it’s worth the commitment. Hence the name, Commit or Quit.

Eric and his brothers are from the U.S. born and raised in my hometown of Atlanta. It’s fun to hear them bicker and rant with each other while also going off on tangents and anecdotes. The podcast is very funny and lighthearted and it keeps my spirits up on days I’m really feeling the effects of quarantine. It’s also introduced me to a ton of new TV shows I wasn’t aware of, especially K-Dramas.

Speaking of K-Dramas, this show has been such a delight. I had to get used to the slapstick-style comedy of this drama but all-in-all this show is actually really funny, if not sometimes ridiculous yet very warmhearted. Definitely a much watch if you’re bored and in for a good laugh. Watch it for free here!

Book: Slay

I read Slay by Brittney Morris in April and while it wasn’t my favorite of the year so far, I thought it was worth mentioning because it was a pretty impressive debut, tackling intense issues such as Black Lives Matter, cultural appropriation, microaggressions and more. I am looking forward to whatever author Brittney Morris decides to write next.
